Chaps has been making ice cream for Charlottesville on the downtown mall since 1985. We have been fortunate enough to grow further into the Charlottesville community in recent years through opening a second Chaps on The UVA Corner. Now, after 40+ years of making ice cream for Charlottesville, we want your help picking the newest flavor of 2026 to be featured at both locations all-year long! Come into either store between March 9 - March 14 to fill out a bracket to put your ice cream expertise to the test and play to win FREE Chaps ice cream for a whole year!

Bracket Submissions

From March 6 - March 14 you can submit a bracket to receive a coupon for a $1 single scoop + play for the chance to win free ice-cream for a year!

First Round
3/15/3/22
Vote in the first-round to help your favorite flavors win their matchups! Each day will have two different flavor matchups, one chocolate and one vanilla.
Second Round
3/23-3/26
16 flavors out, 16 flavors remain. Each day will have two different flavor matchups, one chocolate and one vanilla, so be sure to vote for your favorite flavor each day to help it advance!
Quarter Finals
3/27-3/28
8 flavors are left. Each day will have one chocolate matchup and one vanilla matchup to determine who will advance to the semi final.
Semi Finals
3/29
Only 4 teams remain. Vote on 3/29 to send your favorite chocolate and vanilla flavor to the championship to win-it-all!
Championship
3/30-4/4
The final two flavors, voting takes place over the course of the week, the last chance to vote for the 2026 Chaps flavor of the year!
